For me it actually makes sense. The X1 is half pregnant, too big as a single person commuter and too small for haulage/family duties. The X2 looks better, goes better and is more tossable.
I am 41 (so like the little bit of added height over regular cars) and in need of a HP fix after years of sensible cars and my first though is the original X1 with the 35i engine, then tune it. But in a few years that's getting real long in the tooth so maybe this the answer.
