As someone noted above, its the next generation 1 Series that would fit that description.
But yeah, that's pretty much what a modern crossover is - a hatchback with a lift kit. A lot of small CUVs share a platform with a hatchback. They are different enough to have separate markets with different types of buyers. Although they probably do get cross-shopped in some cases.
