BMW X1 SUV has been updated over a year ago. This means that the model will hold on the line for one and half to two years.
The new generation of the crossover is being tested, but not in a hurry to get rid of camouflage tape. Obviously auto design is borrowed from the new BMW X5, which is not surprising, but the technical part of the SUV can hide a lot of surprises.
Classic layout BMW X1 will change in favor of the front-drive. UKL platform will be the basis of the first series of BMW cars and the new MINI generation.
Technically, the BMW X1 itself will be very close to the second generation car MINI Countryman.
Changing the type of drive cars mean transverse position of the power unit, hence BMW X1 2015 model year will be equipped with a maximum of four-cylinder engines, decent power characteristics which help to achieve the turbo. The base engine will be the same three-cylinder engine with a displacement of 1.5 liters. In addition to BMW's promise and hybrid versions, and with the ability to charge from a household power source in which the motor will drive the wheels on the front axle and on the rear of gasoline.
Compared to the current generation of X1, the new version will increase in length and wheelbase. Unification of the first series of BMW and MINI model range will enable the automaker largely to save on development and production.
