We went one sidewall size larger when upgrading to 19" rims and we are regularly asked about the X1. Beforehand, no one gave a crap. Where we should've put 30/35 sidewall tires, we went with 35/40, and what a difference!

275/35/19 rear and 245/40/19 front was the ticket. No rubbing and looks sensational on Avant Garde M355 19x9/19x10's. It also handles great and feels crazy planted.
I agree with you 100% but they do that with all their X cars. The new X5 is the worst case with tiny wheels. But in doing what you did doesn't that affect the speedo?
According to a GPS unit it read 4mph faster at 70mph (66 actual) with stock, and now it still reads 1-2mph faster than actual speed (68-69 at 70.
