X1 will be FWD, good to know this X2 will be Xdrive Only (=AWD) for those who haven't caught on the BMW difference between Sdrive and Xdrive.

The new nomenclature applies to the fxx chassis, 2er succeeded the 1er for this reason. There can be multiple variations of coupes according to bmw (GC, SAC) & if we are to believe in these new segments the x4, x6, & upcoming x2 are indeed Sport Activity
