They are very different in the interior as well as driving positions.
The current 5GT has a model code of F07 which suggest it is the same playform as the 7-series (F0x) and not the 5-series which have model codes F1x.
This shows in the interior, which more looks like the 7 than the 5...
But it comes with a 5-series price tag...
