Yea it's likely this cooler. A new car won't help, they all have plastic pieces where they shouldn't be and WILL fail after numerous thermal cycles. We moved onto an electric and are keeping our 23 y/o Volvo's that are always reliable. (now I really sound like an old guy!)

Hola! we've been here about 7 years now..... such a nice area to live. It's sad that my most reliable cars are a 10 year old Ford F150 and a 2000 E39 M5. I can tackle most jobs but, if it's the water pump... looks like a freaking nightmare of a job. It's my wife's car and she requires reliability so it would be the ugly cycle of replacing each car as it passes 75k miles where it seems these cars all start to fall apart.
I'll follow up on my progress as I fall into the rabbit hole! lol
