I bought a Gentex model online, which is one of the main creators for most dimming mirrors around the world. That car did not have homelink buttons so I got a model with them. I ran the wiring into the headliner and tapped into the power from the lights on top. All in all, a pretty simple process. BMW OE parts tend to be pretty pricy. Going Gentex direct may or may or not be a cost savings.

The one I bought is Gentex. I was really hoping it was a plug & play thing, since driving at night can be a real PIA for me.
